Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose has blamed his players for not doing well enough, especially at the finish line and giving opponents a chance to counter.

Dortmund lost 1-4 at home to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday. As a result, it is now 9 points behind Bayern Munich from 28 games.

“We got into the ufabet game well and had a big chance to go 1-0 up,” the Dortmund boss said after the last game.

“Consistency has made the difference in today’s game. In the penalty area for both sides, Leipzig didn’t do much of the game other than counter-attacks. We weren’t stable enough in the decision making and didn’t defend well enough.

“Going forward, we saw our attacking line going to score for a long time. Again and again, Leipzig has a chance to counter. We have to work on that part.”

Leipzig then responded two minutes later with Dani Olmo’s well-placed shot from outside the box to seal an emphatic victory.

Marco Rose ‘s side end the day nine points behind leaders Bayern Munich, while the statement win puts daylight between fourth-placed RB Leipzig and their challengers for the Champions League spot as they move three points clear of SC Freiburg in fifth.
